We started because getting dressed had somehow turned into a research project, and we figured it shouldn’t take three tabs and a size chart argument to find a shirt you like.
The tricky part of trend-driven clothing is that most of it is designed to be photographed once. We’d rather make things that survive the wash. That means checking seams on the pieces that get pulled on hardest, picking fabric that doesn’t go see-through after two wears, and cutting the same style across sizes instead of scaling one pattern up and hoping. It’s not glamorous work and nobody puts it in a product description, but it’s the difference between a piece you keep and one you quietly donate in March.
We’re also not going to tell you what your style should be.
